Today’s forex option expiries for the 10am (15.00 GMT) New York cut 29 January 2018
Last week we highlighted the lack of downside options coverage in USDJPY but we’re seeing that picking up now. Overnight there’s been decent interest in short-term (1-3 months) underside strikes from 107.50 down to the low 104’s, in JPY calls. That shows that the market is taking a bit more notice of the moves in the dollar, and perhaps is now seeing that this might be something more than just a blip.
For today’s expiries, we’ve got a fair bit around th e108.70-109.30 area in USDJPY and under 1.23 in EURUSD, which is worth watching if the trend today continues.
