December 2017 German unemployment report 3 January 2018

  • Prior 5.6%. Revised to 5.5%
  • Unemployment change SA -29k vs -12k exp. Prior -18k. Revised to -20k
  • Unemployed total SA 2.442m vs 2.476m prior. Revised to 2.471m
  • NSA 2.385m vs 2.411m exp. Prior 2.368m

A record low unemployment rate. All we need is some wage inflation and we’ll have the Germans screaming for rate hikes. EURUSD largely unmoved at 1.2041.
