April 2018 US CPI inlfation data 10 May 2018
- Prior 2.4%
- 0.2% vs 0.3% exp m/m. Prior -0.1%
- Core 2.1% vs 2.2% exp y/y. Prior 2.1%
- 0.1% vs 0.2% exp m/m. Prior 0.2%
Nothing really to get our teeth into in this one. I’m not sure why the buck doesn’t like these numbers. It’s only a minor miss on the core, and that’s from expectations and not a drop on last month. I guess the market wants rampant inflation.
