January 2018 UK CBI industrial trends survey
- Prior 17
- Export orders 19 vs 16 prior
- Selling prices 40 vs 23 prior
- 3m optimism 13 vs -11 prior
Notes.
- Manufacturing output growth picked up in the three months to January with production expected to expand at a similar pace over the next quarter
- Capacity pressures appear to be biting harder, with the proportion of firms working below capacity falling to its lowest since 1989
- Manufacturers expect new orders growth to ease slightly next quarter, anticipating a mild slowdown in domestic orders
Disappointing dip in orders and a big jump in prices. The last 3 months have been good though with total orders at 23 vs 6 prior.
