A look at the forex options expiring at the 10am (15.00 GMT) New York cut 22 November 2017
The options have had a big say in price moves recently and that’s been because the market isn;t really doing a lot and liquidity isn’t that great. Yesterday we saw some big moves in USDJPY and USDCAD into the expiries and rarely do we see moves like that in more liquid conditions. If that’s the case again today, we could see some frisky moves later, although at the moment, the spot price is hanging around the main big expiries already in USDJPY, EURUSD and USDCAD. Perhaps EURUSD is the only pair we might see some moves as there’s big expiries going off between 1.1700 and 1.1855. That could give options players room to roam.

Hi Ryan! Did U enter a long usdjpy again? I bought at 112. I know the big options are at this level, but seeing some stronger usd, esp. vs nzd and aud. Maybe my yesterday shorts in these pairs are going to do well today and were just false break of the channel and 100H1ma. And just waiting 1230. Interesting previews in your website! TKS!
Hi Stephane, hope you are well?
I was tempted but it looked a bit dodgy and I’m wary of a stop run under somewhere like 111.90. I traded the option move yesterday afternoon from 112.23 to 50 and I’ll keep an eye on it today to see what happens before the expiry. We’ve been lucky these last few days as the options have been giving us some good moves. What I look for is whether any options moves pull pairs out of sync with the intraday trend. That’s what I saw yesterday so I was happy to trade it.
Right. Yesterday 111.90 held very well. I was expecting for a break but it seems to be good for now. These days are very nice in tec levels, they are working pretty good. Let’s see 🙂 Have a nice day!
Have a great day too.
