Due to the weather in Washington there will be no lock up for the jobless data
Due to the “bomb-cyclone” bringing wretched weather to the area, delays at government offices has meant that the pre-data release lock up (where all the reporters get the data early to prepare their pieces for release) has been cancelled. The numbers will instead be released via the website.
Given the nature of the data there shouldn’t be too much impact, if any but if we get the same tomorrow with the NFP, the algo’s could get a little jittery if they don’t get the numbers dead on 13.30. It just means we could see prices pinging about with a bit more volatility than usual in the minutes/seconds leading up to the release.
