December 2017 US business inventories data 14 February 2018
- Prior 0.4%
- Sales 0.6% vs 1.4% prior
- Inventory/sales ratio 1.33 months unch
The rise in inventories is good news coming alongside some still good sales numbers. That shows some confidence in future demand. The dollar isn’t really trading on this though as it’s still shuffling about over the CPI data. Still, it’s more decent data and it was only the autos sector that let the side down falling 0.4% in inventories and -0.1% in sales.
