March 2018 US PCE and personal income & spending report 30 April 2018

  • Prior 1.8%. Revised to 1.7%
  • 0.0% vs 0.0% exp m/m. Prior 0.2%
  • Core PCE 1.9% vs 1.9% exp y/y. Prior 1.6%
  • 0.2% vs 0.2% exp/prior m/m
  • Personal incomes 0.3% vs 0.4% exp m/m. Prior 0.4%. Revised to 0.3%
  • Personal spending 0.4% vs 0.4% exp m/m. Prior 0.2%
  • Real spending 0.4% vs 0.5% exp m/m. Prior 0.0%. Revised to -0.2%

Bang on the money as far as the y/y PCE numbers go. Spending and incomes are there or thereabouts, maybe a tiny bit soft with the revisions lower. Nothing earth shattering for the Fed, which is what traders want to see.
