Forex option expiries for the 10am (14.00 GMT) New York cut 16 August 2018
Something interesting on the board today but I’m going to let you work it out and tell me what it is. It could mean some definitive action at expiry (if all conditions are met). Let’s see if you’ve been paying attention all these months to the option mechanics ? The guys in my trading room already know so they can butt out of it for a while ?
For the rest, some large EURUSD expiries but way up. A barrier in place at 1.1300 and talk of more every 50 pips down to 1.1000. A good sized one in USDMXN could pull the price up towards it at expiry.

so EU will be contained in between 1.15-1.13?
Well, that might happen naturally given that’s a 200 pip range but I shouldn’t think that’s a main factor for today’s expiries.
My butt is perfectly poised …. You’re such a tease boss trousers ?
But, but…
.. ?
you thinking of all the barriers “lineing up” and could break at the same time vs USD?
I don’t think that so much Stefan. The way the option market is trading at the moment there seems of fresh hedging coming in to protect a further downside move in EURUSD. The main feature is that it’s cheap. There’s talk of a lot of low down put buying vs sales of higher puts (1.12’s), and premiums (or risk) are being reduced by taking out RKO’s down around 1.10.
Regardsing the interesting thing today, I’ll put something up shortly but look at the EURGBP and GBPUSD expiries and see if you can see the connection 😉
GBP MAY GO UP AFTER 10 AM.
Ryan, thanks for providing this to us.
would you be able to do the same for ES options?
Hi Jim
The FX options are all OTC reported so ES options would be from the futures markets.
didn’t know that. thanks
