October 2018 US retail sales data 15 November 2018
- Retail sales 0.8% vs 0.5% exp m/m
- Prior 0.1%
- Ex-autos 0.7% vs 0.5% exp m/m. Prior -0.1%
- Ex-fuel/autos 0.3% vs 0.4% exp m/m. Prior 0.0%
- Control group (core sales) 0.3% vs 0.4% exp m/m Prior 0.5%
Ok on the headline numbers but less so when the big components are stripped out. They’re still positive but nothing amazing. Either way, the US consumer is still putting their hands in their pockets. Little change in USD.
