US and Canada on holiday. We could see a drop off in activity later towards the North American session.

Good morning all.
Welcome to the new week.
A slow day on the data front, as is often the case for the first trading day after NFP week.
It looks like US/China news is going to start dominating again. With China back from its break, markets are going to see how trade news is going to start ramping up. With that in mind, I’m looking to add to my USDCNH short again from 6.95 and up to 7.00, just to see what the PBOC might have in store. It’s not a central bank you want to be on the wrong side of if they are sitting waiting to knock a price back.
I was interested in grabbing any quick move in USDJPY to 113.50 last week but the PA is still showing a slight bearish slant from 114 so I’m going to hold off on that for now.
As per my post just now, for cable I’m seeing a 1.2900-1.32 range to trade the edges for now.
Good luck this week.
I’ve got my scalper hat on today and hit the week running with a short EURUSD for +35 . Closed out some short EURJPY a few minutes ago from last week. I will keep half going on that one and see if it can drift down some more.
Still holding shorts in US30 Dow. I had a take from them again on Friday – left a 50% core position and added again on the futures in Asia. I was stopped for -20 trying to short EURNZD before NFP’s and monitoring closely for another trade
. The $DXY USD Index seems to be on a wave 1 . When this current bout of strength is complete we could see a very decent sell off . Always difficult to get the timing right on these wave moves, so I will be watching closely this week for any signs of a turn.
Have a super day ?
