Good morning,
Short EURNOK, short USDCAD, sell EURUSD and Cable rallies
Expect loads of headlines on trade once more this week. US Lighthizer should land in Brussels today for talks with Malmström , Japan-US talks should take place as well as the EEF in Vladivostok(https://forumvostok.ru/en/programme/).
Trump should make a decision on tariffs and maybe up the ante even more. And the there’s always Nafta.
UK PM May rather more struggling with her own party than EU leaders. Should keep GBP in check unless a Brexit breakthrough would finally see the light as hinted a few times last week.
Sweden’s elections have been relatively quiet for SEK so far. Centre parties kept on top( https://valresultat.svt.se/2018/) but SD is not far. Govt discussions will be interesting.
Plenty to trade, USD is bid on dips as data continue to outperform the rest. Should see offers come in EURSUD 1.1570/80 , GBPUSD 1.2940/50, AUDUSD 0.7120/30. JPY I’m trading ranges until we get some clarity on where Trump wants to take Japan on Trade. He’d be ill advised to turn his back to US’ biggest ally and one of its biggest investors but we never know.
Stay safe and happy hunting
We’re about at the levels you indicated for EU, GU and AU … lets see if risk-on sentiment carries into NY open
Long 1/1 USD/CAD 1% at 3172.
Welcome to the new week all.
Running trades are looking a mixed bag.
EURCHF longs are still looking edgy. USDCAD shorts are ok below 1.3220. My USDCNH is going to face some pressure this week I fear.
AUDUSD long off 0.7105 late last week is another one looking on a knife edge. I’ve just taken half off at 18 and I’ll look to move my stop up if we stay above 20.
Today’s data is very light with only UK GDP at 8.30 GMT so I think today will be all about managing trades as there’s not much I like the look of for new trades. We’ll see though, as there’s always opportunities popping up.
Good luck for today and this week.
